Our sustainability approach and actions are making a positive change
Working sustainably is embedded throughout how we work. We work with the communities we are a part of, and our stakeholders to set clear sustainable actions and goals, that will contribute to a better shared future for all.
We make our decisions about sustainability priorities through a process known as ‘materiality’. We create plans for addressing the areas we want to focus on, and report on them through the Global Reporting Initiative framework. We review our plans annually to make sure they are in line with our stakeholders’ views and to make sure we are sustainable now and for future generations.
We are commited to being transparent, and reporting on our sustainability actions. To ensure we publish sustainability information in a transparent and comparable way, we report in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative framework.
We are members of a range of commodity, business and industry associations. The following organisations assist us to futher improve our sustainability performance, as well as enabling our contribution to wider industry initiatives.
Through our initiatives and activities, we contribute to the advancement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
The United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development defined 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in September 2015 that seek to address the world’s greatest challenges. The SDGs build on the work undertaken through the Millennium Development Goals, but have a greater focus on the involvement of the private sector.
