The Ambler Metals Joint Venture is a high-grade development option in northwest Alaska.
In February 2020, we completed the acquisition of a 50 per cent interest in a joint venture with Vancouver-based Trilogy Metals. Named Ambler Metals, the joint venture owns the Upper Kobuk Mineral Projects located in the Ambler Mining District in northwest Alaska. The formation of the joint venture followed a three-year exploration partnership with Trilogy Metals, targeting the Arctic polymetallic deposit, the Bornite copper deposit and regional exploration prospects.
Ambler Metals is an attractive development option within our growing portfolio. A pre-feasibility study for the Arctic deposit is underway and drill testing of regional exploration prospects is planned in the 2021 field season.
Ambler Metals can be separated into three key parts – the high grade, polymetallic Arctic deposit, the Bornite copper deposit and an exciting regional exploration portfolio.
We’ve released Mineral Resource estimates for the Arctic and Bornite deposits for the first time in accordance with JORC Code guidelines. Read the latest announcement here.
