We’re helping hospitals with essential medical equipment

Working in partnership with the South Africa Medical and Education Foundation (SAME Foundation) we’ve donated essential medical equipment to hospitals surrounding our South Africa Manganese operation in the Northern Cape.

Ventilators, medical beds, trauma stretchers, monitors, a defibrillator, ECG machine, trolleys, drip stands and other items will be shared between three different hospitals in the area.

Vice President Operations at South Africa Manganese, Lucas Msimanga said: “Our communities are in need of our support now more than ever, so we’re really pleased that with guidance from the SAME Foundation we could provide this essential equipment that will help so many people.”

We’ve also been working to provide and deliver water and food parcels to rural villages in the area.

These contributions form part of our ZAR 40 million donation to our local communities across South Africa with another ZAR 10 million being donated to the national Solidarity Fund.
