We've lent a helping hand in Queensland

Our Cannington operation in Queensland is committed to working with our local communities in response to COVID-19. Here are some of the ways we’ve lent a helping hand:

Hand sanitiser

We’ve donated more than 600 bottles of hand sanitiser to those who need it most in the local community, including Blue Care Cloncurry Nursing Home residents, our Traditional Owner groups, and McKinlay and Cloncurry Shire Councils.

Care packages for Traditional Elders

We’ve been working with our Traditional Owners, the Mitakoodi and Yulluna peoples, to help keep them safe and well during these challenging times.

We’ve recently delivered 29 care packages to Elders in Mt Isa, Cloncurry and Townsville that included toilet paper, long-life milk, pasta, rice and bread.

New Fever Clinic for Julia Creek Hospital

We’ve partnered with the McKinlay Shire Council Local Disaster Management Group to fund a demountable fever clinic in Julia Creek.

The fever clinic was originally a gazebo outside of the main hospital which wasn’t ideal in high winds and with the cooler weather setting in.

Fever clinics have been established across Queensland to assess patients with flu like symptoms separate from main hospitals and emergency departments to help reduce the potential spread of COVID-19 and ease pressure on the local health care system.

Bridging the digital divide

We’ve helped local students in Cloncurry to bridge the digital divide during COVID-19. 

We’ve recently donated internet SIM cards and laptops to Cloncurry State School to help students who are at home stay connected to the classroom.
