At Hillside Aluminium and South Africa Manganese operations we’re sponsoring the Imbumba Foundation’s Caring4Girls program – helping change the lives of thousands of South African school girls.
According to research, underprivileged girls can miss up to 50 days of school a year because they don’t have access to adequate feminine hygiene. Our investment goes a long way to remedy this, helping to provide sanitary towels and health education across rural, informal settlement and township schools.
Our teams felt privileged to support over 4000 girls through the provision of packs of sanitary products to high school students in the communities around our operations. The Caring4Girls program also focuses on awareness around women’s health. And with our support, we hope the Imbumba Foundation reaches its goal of helping two million girls by 2020.
