We have donated US$1M to support Ukraine and flood relief efforts in Australia
As the crisis in Ukraine continues, South32 stands united with those around the world who strongly condemn Russia’s invasion, the resulting tragic loss of life and the heartbreaking displacement of so many Ukrainian people. To show our support, we have donated US$500,000 between the Red Cross’ Ukraine Crisis Appeal, and the United Nation Refugee Agency’s Ukraine Emergency fund. We’re also matching employee donations.
At the same time, in Australia, the people of Queensland and New South Wales are experiencing intense storms and flash floods. People have lost their lives, many more are missing, and homes and businesses are severely damaged. We pledge our support with a further US$500,000 donation to local flood appeals, and again, we’re matching donations made by our people.
Our thoughts continue to be with everyone caught up in these tragic events.
