Congratulations to our new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Sandy Sibenaler, who picked up the People's Choice Award at the recent Chamber of Minerals and Energy of Western Australia (CME) Women in Resources Awards.
Sandy was also a finalist for the Women in Resources Champion Award, nominated for her passion for inclusion and diversity in the resources sector and her role in initiating and driving the Living our Code training across our business. Sandy was thrilled at the news, and said it was an amazing way to kick things off in her new role as CFO, an appointment which now brings the South32 Lead Team to 50 per cent female representation.
“I feel humbled to be the recipient of this award amongst outstanding competition, and to be starting my journey with the South32 Lead Team,” Sandy said.
“For me, bringing the voice of women to the table and playing my part in shifting the dial on gender equity will always be front of mind,” she said.
Previously Vice President Finance, Sandy has more than 20 years of treasury, finance and commercial experience and brings both personal drive and strong leadership to the role, as well as her passion for creating safe and inclusive work environments.
