Restoring Collie River

17 APRIL 2018

We're cleaning up Collie River in partnership with The Shire of Collie

Our Worsley Alumina operation in Western Australia has teamed up with The Shire of Collie to restore the Collie River to pristine condition.

Worsley will contribute $90,000 over three years to help with weed eradication and the planting of more than 60,000 native seedlings in surrounding areas suffering from environmental damage.

Worsley Alumina Vice President Operations, Dino Otranto, said the restoration project would significantly improve the popular community attraction, creating a lasting benefit for Collie.

“As a global resources company, we know how important it is to rehabilitate our natural environment, ensuring we leave things the way we found them for future generations,” Dino said.

“We’re proud to support such an important initiative, which will bring the community together as they enjoy the river and its surrounds.”
