Literacy is an important skill in anyone’s life, and lending our support to the education programmes of the 2016 Tamar Valley Writers’ Festival was a natural choice – because a lot of our people do a lot of reading. Tamar Valley is one of the biggest writers’ festivals outside a capital city, and is regarded as one of Tasmania’s signature events. Because it has a strong education focus, the Festival also attracts students from across the region.

Our sponsorship included the Schools Day Programme, which focuses on children in Kindergarten to Year 2, and the Children’s and Young Adult Authors Programme, which showcases authors from popular storybooks and novels. Helping kids learn to love reading is a great joy and a privilege.
