Hillside community partnership helping high school students with maths and science skills
Our Hillside Aluminium operation in South Africa has partnered with Inqubeko Training Academy to help local high school students develop their maths and science skills.
The education program provides 100 students with tutoring, mentoring, English lessons and life coaching to help set them up for success as they make important decisions about their future careers.
Each student is provided with a mobile smart device that is loaded with a maths and science app and Wi-Fi data. With access to over 3000 science and maths exercises, written answers and video explanations, the app creates a unique learning pathway for students.
Education is one of our four community investment focus areas, where we make a difference by supporting lifelong learning and development, nurturing future leaders and promoting equal access to education, with a focus on science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
