Providing access to education is one way we make a difference at South32.

As part of our community investment program, we are re-building the Rearata Primary School to make it safer, deliver more modern leaning facilities, and to accommodate more students living near our South African Manganese operations in the Northern Cape.

South32 contributed more than R21.2 million to the Rearata Primary School project, working collaboratively with the Department of Education to help thousands of local students learn under new and improved conditions.

As part of our commitment towards enterprise development, the project also provides employment opportunities with 20 temporary jobs created for people from the local community.
